WESC Ed Banger Headphones

French record label Ed Banger are the latest to collaborate with WESC on their artist headphone series. Ed Banger joins the likes of dj/producer Stretch Armstrong and graffiti artist Stash with bold color choices in the design seen here. These aren't going to be available for a little while, but are going to be worth the wait.

Boscombe surf reef

The new surf reef in Boscombe is scheduled to be finished around December 2008. When it is completed it will be the only artificial surf reef in Europe, and one of four others worldwide: Narrowneck, Queensland; Cables, Western Australia and Mt.Maunganui, New Zealand.It will be located to the east of Boscombe Pier and the reef will take up about one hectare (the size of a football pitch). It will attract surfers from all over the World as it works by mimicking the effects of a natural reef and will be built from large geo-textile bags pumped full of sand.

Keep your eyes peeled as we're planning to add surf hardware to the store and extend our range of surf brands.

Supra 413 Silver Skytop Limited Edition Trainers

The Supra Footwear line has been growing in popularity ever since Jay-Z gave them some love in Rihanna’s “Umbrella” video. Now that the Skytop has become the Supra line’s staple model, the folks over at Supra are giving fans a special limited edition “413 Silver” colorway of the shoe that will only be available at a handful of UK stores including The Consortium Each store will only have around 10 pairs available for sale. The limited edition Skytops will go on sale on Saturday the 14th of June at 10am.

The OBEY Mixtape Series - Volume 5

The new Obey records mixtape CD 'I Spit On Your Grave' has just arrived at the store. This instalment sees The Gaslamp Killer serve up his deep and dark blend of psychedelic rock, demonic bass-heavy hip-hop, Middle-Eastern / Indian rare grooves, and ear-piercing helicopter breaks.

As usual the artwork was produced by Shepard Fairey... “My art for the Gaslamp Killer mix was inspired by Theo Jemison’s photo, combined with the music and personality of the Gaslamp Killer. The GLK is into dark and psychedelic sounds, so that, combined with his name, called for a hippie / horror salad tossed with a blood vinaigrette. The flavor was only enhanced by the Gaslamp Killer's more sinister personal look, having shaved his dreads and grown an unruly beard and sideburns combo worthy of the most savage maniacs. You must wade through boiling pools of blood to get to the promised land, but the journey the Gaslamp Killer takes you on is all part of the destination.”

Rain Spoils Play

Well, after Sundays' postponement we attempted to hold The Consortium Skateboard Jam and Comp yesterday and after what appeared to be a promising start and an initial couple of dry hours, the rain appeared and put a premature end to the days fun.
We'd like to thank everybody that turned up for it, your support and enthusiasm was much appreciated. We are now planning to re-hold the event sometime over the coming months, maybe a bit closer to summer! Say tuned for further details.

Adventures in the Beetroot Field - Saturday 26th January 08

Last Saturday saw the first AITBF event at The Consortium Bar & Club, it was an amazing night featuring some best up and coming bands and Dj's of the moment inculding Lightspeed champion and Pete and the Pirates who put on an excellent show. A big thanks to everyone that made it down, the artists that performed and our friends at 60million Postcards.
